Turki Alalshikh picks promoter for Canelo-Crawford…but its not Dana White

May 18, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Turki Alalshikh, the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia announced via social media that Sela, an entertainment conglomerate, would be the promoter for Riyadh Season for the Canelo-Crawford fight September 13th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

We have confirmed the promoter for Canelo v Crawford will be Sela for Riyadh Season. The broadcaster we have not decided yet but the date will be Saturday 13th September. More details soon …🥊🔥

Notably, TKO Group nor Dana White were announced as promoting the fight. We all recall that earlier this year TKO and Riyadh Season announced a partnership which would finally lead to White entering the boxing business as a promoter.

While TKO may be a part of the event, its a headscratcher to think that Alalshikh would omit White or TKO in this announcement. Mark Shapiro touted the collaboration and TKO starting its boxing promotion with the Canelo-Crawford fight taking place in Las Vegas.

Yet, there was no mention and one might infer that TKO may not be starting its boxing league with this fight. Riyadh Season is still looking for a broadcaster for the event although many rumors link DAZN as the frontrunner. Canelo’s fight earlier this month took place on TKO.
