The upstart Global Fight League which was to have its inaugural events in Los Angeles at the end of May has canceled both cards and the league is in jeopardy.
The bottom line is that an investor that was tied to funding the league missed a deadline and as a result the organizer have canceled the events scheduled for the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on May 24 and May 25. Per MMA Junkie, GFL Founder Darren Owen hops to hold the first events in June.
The Global Fight League (GFL) two-night doubleheader debut events May 24 and May 25 in Los Angeles have indeed been canceled, CSAC head Andy Foster confirmed to me, following an X post by @FightOracle.

Additional sources close to fighters say they are being told the events have…
The league is (was) comprised of former UFC and Bellator fighters. In all honesty, the fighters on the roster are past their prime and many should not be allowed to fight.
The event on May 24 featured Urijah Faber vs. Renan Barao, Anthony Pettis vs. Benson Henderson and Holly Holm vs. Julia Budd. The event on May 25 had Tony Ferguson vs. Dillon Danis, Ovince St. Preux vs. Alexander Gustafsson and Paige VanZant vs. Randi Field.
To be honest, it is probably best that some of the fighters slated to appear do not get back in the cage. While most MMA fans would recognize the names on the card, they are not the same fighter as they were 10 years ago. Frankly, it would have been unclear how some of the fighters would be able to have a license to fight in the state of California.
We will see if GFL obtains the necessary funding to hold its events or will it be another promotion that has come and gone.
