Saturday Night’s Main Event draws 1.494M viewers

January 28, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

This past Saturday Night’s Main Event from San Antonio drew 1.494 million viewers per Wrestlenomics. The telecast drew a rating of 0.33 in the A18-49 demo.

It was the second event of the WWE reboot from the 1980s. The telecast was down from December’s re-debut by 21% in the A18-49.

The telecast went up against the NBA on ABC featuring the Lakers and Warriors. The game drew over 3 million viewers and a 0.7 rating in the A18-49 demo.

Saturday Night’ s Main Event featured Gunther defeating Jay Uso of the main event. Rhea Ripley beating Nia Jax was the opener and the telecast also featured a faceoff between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens with Shawn Michaels.

College Basketball on ESPN and the NBA game may have detracted viewers, or it could have been an instance where this event was not promoted as heavily as the first one in december.

The proliferation of gambling makes "shit happens" no longer an acceptable excuse. There should be a vehicle for fixing grossly unfair outcomes like the one that happened to Western Michigan tonight.

We are now in the part of College Football where we are starting to do do-overs so the right team can win

Terry McAulay: "The ball isn't even close to touching a player when it goes to zero... Their Hawk-Eye system apparently had a different sync... I don't see how that happened, assuming our clock is correct... The ball is clearly still in the air when the clock goes to zero..."

Excellent drive from Bryce Underwood and Michigan. So much different from much of last year.

Kyle Whittingham is such a great football coach! Going to be fun to watch the progression of this team.
