After purchase, Bellator fighters unhappy with lack of action

November 24, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

As the PFL Championship take place this Saturday in Saudi Arabia, Bellator fighters are expressing their frustration with the organization that purchased Bellator.

Bellator’s top stars Patchy Mix, Corey Anderson and Patricio Freire are upset with the “lack of communication” from the PFL about the next steps in their fighting careers.

Per MMA Junkie, fighters took to social media to vent.

I’ve been training my ass off for the last half of year for nothing. This is frustrating in the prime of my career and I’ve had my fight in November cancelled?
Then now again I’m being told I’m off January Dubai card? I am the best in the world and I want to fight to prove it

I haven’t fought since February. I wanted to fight 3x this year, but I was told I’d have to wait until December 31st and found out online my opponent would fight someone else. Then they had a replacement, I bring people over, spend more money with the camp and there’s no fight. https://t.co/UM5YyCt4Kf

Also of note, Lorenz Larkin was recently released from his contract from Bellator which one might infer was due in part to lack of action.

Gegard Mousasi, is currently involved in a lawsuit with Bellator (now PFL) as he argues that he was put on the shelf on purpose due to his contract.

While PFL proclaims to be a more fighter friendly organization, we are seeing problems with how Bellator fighters are being treated. The lack of communication and conveyance of a plan for the fighters’ future is an issue.
