Dana White has been highlighted as a factor in getting out the youth male demo to vote for Donald Trump as he regained the presidency.
A long-time ally of Trump, White is low-key working his way up the Republican power tower. He has spoken at the 2016 and 2024 Republican National Convention and gave him a guest entrance at his UFC PPV events. White has a lock on the key youth male demo of 18-34 and most of his contracted fighters follow his politics. While White preaches free speech for all of his fighters, it is those that preach anti-government and pro-Trump rhetoric that get the most airtime (e.g., Colby Covington).
White, like Trump, has enabled himself to speak to the “deplorables” as one of them despite the fact they make billions of dollars. White, more than Trump, resembles the anti-establishment, stick-it-to the man-type persona that appeals to the young, white male that feels slighted by a perceived softer America. Fans of White rally around him as someone who exemplifies the hard-work pays off persona that will get “them” places. Obviously, it helps to know brothers that are millionaires, but that’s beside the point.
On election night, White was right there front and center with Trump as he praised the man with 34 felonies and still winning the popular vote in America. White has chided any cabinet position or appointment from Trump but there is potential for a run in the future.
The ability to shape the narrative and control those who put out messages has been key for White and if he eventually runs for office (domestic violence incident? so what) it should be no surprise if the leader of the UFC finds a higher office.
