UFC 308 took place on Saturday in Abu Dhabi with Ilia Topuria becoming the first Featherweight to stop Max Holloway in the main event.
Topuria received one of the $50K bonuses for his performance in stopping Holloway in the third-round. Topuria’s punching power is unmatched in the Featherweight division as shown in stopping a sure-bet Hall of Famer.
Khamzat Chimaev solidified his spot as the top contender to the middleweight crown with what looked to be a face crank on Robert Whittaker. Chimaev started fast early and overwhelmed Whittaker. The submission occurred in the first round.
Shara Magomedov remains undefeated with his TKO stoppage of Armen Petrosyan. The spinning backfist KO occurred with seconds left in the second round.
The Fight of the Night went to Mateusz Rebecki and Myktybek Orolbai. It was Rebecki who earned the split decision victory in a fierce battle.
