UFC and Plaintiffs in Le-Zuffa case tentatively settle for $375M

September 26, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

On Thursday morning, Zuffa and the plaintiffs in the Le lawsuit agreed to settle the case for $375 million. The settlement is pending Court approval by Judge Boulware.

TKO Group filed a Form 8-K this morning informing its investors of the settlement for $375 million. The settlement is for the Le plaintiffs only. If the Court approves the settlement, the Kajan Johnson lawsuit will continue on.

The Court will have to hear the terms of the agreement and determine whether it is fair and adequately compensates the class certified by Judge Boulware. F

Notably, I just did an episode of The Legal Submission going over the first status conference in which the parties attempted to approve the $335 million settlement this past June.

Payout Perspective:

The settlement improves upon the $335 million settlement which included the Le and Johnson classes. The big question is whether Judge Boulware will accept the terms of the settlement. If so, it presents the question of the viability of the Johnson case which is still up in the air. If Judge Boulware denies the settlement, the parties can still get together to come up with terms of the deal prior to the February 2, 2025 trial.
