Wingstop gets the rub for Summerslam

August 1, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The Buffalo Wing restaurant, Wingstop, will be the presenting sponsor for Summerslam this Saturday in Cleveland, Ohio. The Wingstop logo will be on the mat in two corners during the event.

The Prime logo, will be in the middle of the ring as it has for Premium Live Events for the WWE.

Via WWE press release:

In addition to its premiere designation as the presenting partner of SummerSlam 2024, Wingstop will present the SummerSlam Kickoff Event on Friday, August 2 which streams live in the U.S. exclusively on Peacock. The partnership also includes a customized video campaign featuring WWE Superstars Rey Mysterio and Braun Strowman which will air across WWE programming this summer.

TKO Group has opened up the WWE mat to sponsors as another revenue stream to entice partners. This will be the second logo on the WWE mat which had remained without sponsors for years in the Vince McMahon era. However, TKO has shifted course with the business and its likely we may see more sponsors on the mat for other PLEs.

Will we see it as cluttered as a UFC octagon? Time (and money) will tell.
