Ryan Garcia reportedly tests positive for Ostarine

May 1, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Ryan Garcia pulled off a big upset last month over Devin Haney but multiple reports out on Wednesday note that he tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine. Garcia denies the failed drug test.

Voluntary Anti-Doping Association conducted the drug test and urine samples which were taken prior to the fight. The A-sample tested positive for the banned substance. Garcia has 10 days to request that his B-sample is tested.

Devin Haney sent out a statement on Garcia’s positive drug test:

Garcia has sent out several social media messages denying taking a PED. Of course, he also played into his pre-fight gimmick of acting crazy.

I need more steroids I’m addicted

Per ESPN’s Mike Coppinger, the New York State Athletic Commission is looking into Garcia’s drug test. This may determine whether Garcia’s win will be overturned.

Statement from New York State Athletic Commssion to ESPN regarding the result of Ryan Garcia’s win over Devin Haney:

“Safety, fairness, and integrity in professional athletic competition are essential. The Commission is in communication with VADA and is reviewing the matter.”

If you’ve heard of the drug Ostarine, many UFC fighters have been flagged for its use. It is a Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator (SARM). It helps athletes build muscle mass, lose fat, increase stamina and recovery ability. It was banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency in 2008.

Payout Perspective:

Wouldn’t you know that this would happen after Garcia put on a show of acting crazy during the pre-fight hype? Garcia put on a masterful performance in the ring but now he’s going to have to defend himself as to the drug test showing Ostarine in his system. There is the possibility that he used a tainted supplement and that’s how it showed up in his system but we shall see.

Right wing grift is so hilariously easy. Just write a very weird and creepy fantasy story you know your paper won’t publish, then make a public show of resigning because of it, and you’ll instantly have a job offer from Clay Travis in your inbox
