UFC 300 gets first title fight

January 11, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Dana White announced via social media that Zhang Weili will defend her UFC women’s strawweight championship against Yan Xiaonan. It will be the first time a UFC title fight has taken place between two Chinese athletes.

UFC 300 is set to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on April 13th.

Zhang won back the championship last November against Carla Esparza and successfully defended it this past August against Amanda Lemos.

Yan put on a Performance of the Night by stopping former champ Jessica Andrade in the first round of their fight this past May.

White foreshadowed that he had at least 2 more title fights that would be on the UFC 300 card.
