UFC 296 took place on Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The promotion handed out its usual 3 performance bonuses and a Fight of the Night.
The Fight of the Night saw Irena Aldana defeat Karol Rosa in a woman’s bantamweight match on the prelims. The bloody fight had many on social media touting it as one of the best of the year.
Josh Emmett earned a $50K performance bonus with a first round KO of Bryce Mitchell that left Mitchell lying in the Octagon inducing a seizure. Fortunately, Mitchell was able to be assisted out of the Octagon.
Ariane Lipski earned a $50K performance bonus for her submission victory over Casey O’Neill. Lipski’s arm bar looked like it had bent O’Neill’s arm back before she tapped.
The final $50K bonus went to Shamiel Gaziev as he stopped Marin Buday in the second round in a battle of Heavyweights.
