UFC Austin bonuses

December 2, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC on ESPN 52 (UFC Austin) took place on Saturday from Austin, Texas and saw every fighter with a finish receive a Performance Bonus. In all, 10 $50K bonuses were handed out.

Main event winner Arman Tsarukyan earned a $50K Performance Bonus for his stoppage on Beneil Dariush. Also, last-minute fill-in Jalin Turner earned a $50K Performance Bonus with a stoppage on Bobby Green. Unfortunately, the referee did not protect Green after it was clear Turner had him stopped. But Turner had to continue with several more punches before the fight was stopped.

Also of note, Miesha Tate on the prelims showed no Octagon-rust after a year off with a third round submission over Julia Avila. Tate dominated most of the fight and ended it with a rear naked choke submission.

The other bonus winners included Sean Brady, Cody Brundage, Jared Gooden, Drakkar Klose and Dustin Stoltzfus.

The Fight of the Night went to Rodolfo Bellato vs. Ihor Potieria. Despite losing the first round Bellato mounted a comeback in round 2 to earn the TKO victory. Each earned $50K.

Thank you Seattle for the privilege. How often can anyone buy a Super Bowl winning team? Humbled.
