2023 PFL Champions crowned

November 26, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

On Friday night in Washington, D.C., the PFL crowned new $1M champions. Olivier Aubin-Mercier led the list of back-to-back champions for the night.

OAM defeated Clay Collard via unanimous decision to win the 2023 lightweight tournament. It was the second straight year that the 34-year-old made his way through the tournament. Immediate indications seemed to have OAM retiring and/or taking some extended time off. Thus, not threepeat for the 2024 season.

Larissa Pacheco continued her dominance over the women’s Featherweight division with a unanimous decision victory over Marina Mokhnatkina. Last year, she upset Kayla Harrison in the women’s lightweight division to earn her $1M purse.

Magomed Magoedkerimov earned his second PFL Championship of his career and became the victories leader in PFL history with his submission over last year’s welterweight winner Sadibou Sy.

Renan Ferreira capped off an extraordinary 2023 season with a TKO over Denis Goltsov to win the Heavyweight Championship and $1M.

Finally, in what should be considered the Cinderella story of the season, Jesus Pineda finished off his remarkable season by defeating Gabriel Braga via TKO in third round. He is the first ever MMA champion from Peru and earned the first $1M prize of the evening.
