UFC extends deal with Abu Dhabi through 2028

October 19, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The UFC announced on Thursday in the U.S. that it has extended its partnership with The Department of Culture and Tourism through 2028. The deal expands the relationship that will not only see UFC PPV events in Abu Dhabi but Fight Night events which will take place across the Middle East and North Africa [MENA] region.

Dana White made an announcement on IG this morning.

Of note, the UFC announced that it would hold a UFC Fight Night in Saudi Arabia in March 2024. The extension and expansion seems to be a natural progression for the UFC as its merged with the WWE to make TKO. The WWE has had semi-annual events in Saudi Arabia for some time and have reaped the benefits of the relationship (i.e., money and fans). Moreover, in the effort to globalize the sport, grow it and find more of an audience expansion to the MENA region (as well as Africa) was inevitable.
