Dana White said at the Dana White Contender Series post-fight presser that he would like to do the next Mexican Independence Day event at The Sphere.
U2 played a concert at The Sphere as a debut of its residency at the $2.3 billion structure proclaimed as the entertainment venue of the future. The structure, built by Madison Square Garden Entertainment is touted as the world’s largest spherical structure. Per CNN’s report of the structure, “its a bowl-shaped theater containing a stage at the bottom level, flanked by what is reportedly the world’s largest and highest-resolution LED screen.”
White, who wants to make Mexican Independence Day weekend in September an annual UFC event is looking into putting an event in the structure.

Payout Perspective:
Although the UFC is an anchor tenant at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and holds events on its campus at The Apex, its clear that White can take an event to The Sphere if he wants. The spectacle of it all makes sense and the company has been an early adopter in these types of tech-laden projects. The company has looked at making UFC events an experience and this would make it another step into something people would talk about.
