UFC 293 attendance, gate and bonuses

September 9, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC 293 took place in Sydney, Australia on Sunday morning and saw a title change in front of a sellout crowd.

Sean Strickland won a unanimous decision victory over Israel Adesanya to win the UFC Middleweight title.  For his efforts, he earned one of the $50K bonuses.  Justin Tafa earned a Performance Bonus for his first round KO of Austen Lane.

The Fight of the Night went to a great scrap between flyweights Manel Kape and Felipe dos Santos.  Each earned $50K although Kape may have to give some of it back for his post-fight Octagon interview in which he used several choice words about City Kickboxing.

Notably, Tyson Pedro and Alexander Vokov were left off the bonus list despite their impressive stoppages on the main card.

The announced attendance by Dana White at the post-fight press conference was 18,168 for a gate of $10,752,296 (AUD) which was the highest gate for an indoor arena in the history of Australia.
