Possibility of PFL partnering Bellator is possible

June 16, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Could the PFL and Bellator merge?  The speculation is growing after Bellator president Scott Coker told a group of reporters including MMA Junkie on Thursday that the PFL is in the possible mix to partner with the company.

Viacom, the parent company of Bellator, are exploring options for a potential business partnership.  Rumors have been around that Bellator was looking to be acquired by another.  Coker confirmed that the PFL could be one of the companies in the mix. “They are definitely in the conversation,” Coker said about the rumors that the PFL could partner (or maybe acquire) Bellator.

The PFL has made moves this year in what you might infer is an attempt to be the number two organization in North America.  It signed Jake Paul to be an ambassador of sorts for the company and draw interest from his dedicated fanbase.  It also signed Francis Ngannou to a unique partnership with the organization.  A move to partner with the Bellator roster would expand the roster as well as make it more competitive.  For the PFL, it would also bolster its PPV division which is needed if the company intends to bolster profits.
