Air National Guard invests in new ‘TUF’ season

May 31, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The Sports Business Journal reports that the Air National Guard will be the lead sponsor for ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ series which returned on May 30th.  One source per SBJ states that the deal is a ‘high seven-figure deal.’

The new agreement has the Air National Guard as the lead sponsor through the 12 episodes of TUF which features Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler.  The debut episode ran on Tuesday.  Air National Guard will receive Octagon branding during all U.S.=based PPV and UFC Fight Nights, along with custom content.

If you want to know the reason for the huge investment by the Air National Guard, Grant Norris-Jones stated the obvious:

“UFC fans are largely within their recruiting demographic, and it has a high propensity towards military service or previous military service, which really makes sense for the Air National Guard. It’s a broader reach than most military sponsorships.”

Payout Perspective:

The Air National Guard has been a sponsor of the UFC for some time now and it the investment makes sense.  While TUF has shown its wear over the past several seasons, the return of Conor McGregor promises to be highly watched and the deal to have its brand seen by many viewers within the target demo of the UFC would help boost applicants.
