Drake drops $500K on Jon Jones

March 4, 2023 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Ahead of UFC 285 and the return of Jon Jones, the rapper Drake has decided who he is putting his money behind.  In connection with UFC Betting Partner, Stake, the Canadian rapper is betting half a million dollars on Jones.

Drake is no stranger to betting big money on sports.  Recently, he posted $2 million that Israel Adesanya would beat Alex Pereira this past November.  As we know, Pereira earned the victory.  He also has lost bets wagering on Jorge Masvidal, Justin Gaethje and Jose Aldo (per MMA Fighting).  He also has won some big MMA bets too.

On his Instagram, Drake posted the bet $250K that Jones would win by Submission.  The estimated payout would be $1.7 million.  He also bet $250K that Jones would win by KO.  That payout would be $1.3 million.  As you may deduce, he doesn’t win anything if Jones wins by decision or if Gane wins the fight.

In his Instagram post, Drake wrote, “Jon Jones for the comeback?”

The post also received a reply from Conor McGregor as he wrote, “Nice bet, was thinking same.”

Payout Perspective:

Drake may not be a Floyd Mayweather, Jr. when it comes to betting on sports.  But, placing bets with the UFC’s betting partner Stake is a strategic move that helps the UFC’s betting partner get more visibility.  And even if you believe in the Drake curse – the belief that every team he supports – loses, it is likely a win for the UFC.
