Top Rank Boxing one ESPN draws 923K for Haney-Kambosos 2

October 18, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Top Rank Boxing on ESPN Saturday night drew 923,000 viewers per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.  The telecast, which featured the rematch between Devin Haney and George Kambosos drew 380,000 in the A18-49 demo.

The telecast finished 13th overall in the cable ratings on Saturday.  It drew 0.29 in the A18-49 demo, 0.21 F18-49, 0.37 M18-49, 0.18 A18-34, 0.15 F12-34, 0.16 M12-34, 0.37 A25-54 and 0.41 in over 50.

Haney defeated Kambosos once again via unanimous decision in a fight that took place in Melbourne, Australia.

The telecast started at 10:37 pm EST due to an overrun from College Football.  Yet, the 923,000 viewers is still a reputable viewership number at a time when Fox ran a PBC PPV featuring Deontay Wilder.

Payout Perspective:

The ratings show promise in Devin Haney as a draw.  It helps that this was a rematch of a fight that was strongly promoted by the rivalry created by the two.  Granted, the first fight drew over 1 million viewers but there was much more competition this time around, College Football and Major League Baseball took most of the day on cable, but Haney-Kambosos 2 provided some solid ratings.
