UFC 279 took place on Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was another sell-out for the company as it was Nathan Diaz’s last fight under his contract.
Diaz was one of the Performance Bonus winners as he received $50,000 for his submission victory over Tony Ferguson.
Also receiving a bonus was Irena Aldana who stopped Macy Chiasson with an upkick to the body in the third round of their matchup.
Johnny Walker earned a bonus with a rear naked choke victory over Ion Cutelaba. The final fighter to receive a bonus was Jailton Almeida who earned a submission victory over Anton Turkalj in the very first round of their fight.
The event drew $5,670,271.86 for a sellout per the UFC with 19,125 in attendance.
