Top Rank Boxing draws 1.166M viewer average for Stevenson-Valdez

May 3, 2022 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Top Rank Box on ESPN Saturday night scored big with 1.166 million viewers on the network for the Shakur Stevenson versus Oscar Valdez fight.  It was second to only the NFL Draft in the ratings for Saturday.

The telecast drew 500,000 viewers in the A18-49 demo and a household rating of 0.66.

Broken down, the event drew 0.38 in the A18-49 demo, 0.24 in F18-49, 0.53 in M18-49, 0.29 A18-34, 0.17 F12-34, 0.31 M12-34, 0.44 A25-54, 0.50 in over 50.

Per BoxingScene.com, the fight between Stevenson and Valdez drew an average of 1.353 million viewers and peaked at 1.44 million.

Payout Perspective:

Despite starting late due to the UFC overrun, the event actually did better than the UFC in the ratings.  Moreover, the ratings in the A18-49 demo were higher than the main card for the UFC.  The telecast reflects a potential star in Stevenson as the ratings spiked during his bout with Valdez.
