Report: Jon Jones arrested in Las Vegas early Friday

September 24, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

ESPN reports that Jon Jones was arrested early Friday morning in Las Vegas by the Las Vegas Metro PD.  He is being charged with misdemeanor battery domestic violence and injuryin or tampering with a vehicle.

Jones appeared at the UFC Hall of Fame ceremonies on Thursday night as his fight with Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165 was honored as part of the Fight Wing of the Hall of Fame.

The former light heavyweight champion is currently being held on 12-hour detention in Las Vegas.

Jones, who said he was eyeing a return to the Octagon in 2022, has had a history of run-ins with the law.  In April 2019, he faced a misdemeanor battery charge from a strip club in New Mexico.  In March 2020, he was arrested for alleged aggravated-DWI and negligent use of firearm. In 2015, he left the scene of a hit-and-run accident.

Payout Perspective:

Although no word has come out of this latest incident, Jones’ past problems do not help him for his present. Even if Jones is not at fault here, its hard to give him the benefit of the doubt. The fact that Jones is in trouble once again reflects the fact that he has not learned to avoid trouble.
