NXT 700K, AEW 821K

May 21, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

NXT on the USA Network Tuesday drew 700,000 viewers according to Nielsen.  AEW on TNT Wednesday night drew 821,000 viewers and 0.28 in the A18-49 demo per Nielsen on Wednesday.

Both telecasts were likely affected by the NBA Play-In Games which aired opposite the telecasts.

For NXT, the 700,000 viewers are slightly up from its May 11th episode.

For AEW it is down from the previous week’s 936,000 viewers.  The telecast went up against the NBA game between the Lakers and Warriors on ESPN on the west coast.  Notably, the game peaked with 6.149 million viewers in the last 30 minutes which also was the last half hour of AEW on the west coast feed.

Payout Perspective:

With the NBA and NHL Playoffs happening opposite NXT and AEW for the next several weeks, one might expect that the ratings skew slightly lower.  NXT was up slightly from the 697K viewers it had on Friday.  But, AEW seemed to suffer with the NBA’s best play-in games occurring on the same night.
