Prochazka earns double bonus at UFC on ESPN 23

May 2, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC on ESPN 23 took place on Saturday in Las Vegas at the Apex.  It was Jiri Prochazka’s night as he drew a rare double bonus.

Prochazka’s spinning elbow KO of Dominick Reyes earned a Performance Bonus.  It also earned a Fight of the Night between the two light heavyweights.  The win propelled Prochazka’s to the number 1 contender position to face the winner of the Jan Blachowicz-Glover Teixeira later this year.

In addition, Giga Chikadze earned the other $50K bonus with his quick stoppage of UFC vet Cub Swwanson.

Payout Perspective:

It was a night for the Czech Republic’s Prochazka as he proved to be a viable threat in the UFC Light Heavyweight picture.  On a night where no other fights stood out except Chikadze’s stoppage, Prochazka’s performance gained notoriety.
