Berger Montague, the lead counsel for plaintiffs in the UFC Antitrust lawsuit has launched a web site for prospective class members in anticipation of a ruling in favor of certification.
The web site, UFCclassaction.com outlines the case as well as a chance to submit information if the individual reading is a current or former UFC fighter.
The web site includes a FAQ page, key developments in the case, the experts that are participating on behalf of the plaintiffs and the legal team. One might infer that the web site was established to ensure that potential class members are aware of the happenings in the lawsuit.
The web site comes on the heels of the response brief by Sparacino, PLLC, a Washington D.C. based firm which the plaintiffs claim broke legal ethic rules in attempting to contact potential class members through advertisements. The law firm argues that they did nothing wrong in contacting the individuals.
Payout Perspective:
The web site shall serve as a contact point and informational site for prospective fighters seeking to understand their rights and the current status of the case. We will start to see other law firms come and attempt to cherry-pick clients in this lawsuit. The potential class members have the opportunity to opt-out of having Berger Montague, et al represent them in the lawsuit. But, this web site should provide them with good will for those not sure of what, if anything, they need to do as this litigation moves forward.
