Last-minute cancelled bout on UFC Prelims

February 20, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

An interesting turn took place Saturday afternoon at The Apex in Las Vegas.  The fight with Jamall Emmers and Chas Skelly was cancelled after Skelly entered the Octagon.

During the broadcast, it was stated that Emmers experienced back spasm.

Skelly took the high road and was interviewed by Michael Bisping as if he had won the fight.  Obviously, he was downtrodden about not being able to fight.  He also was concerned about his weight cut to Featherweight and the prospects of turning around and doing it again.

Payout Perspective:

Earlier in the day the Luis Pena-Drakkar Klose was cancelled due to a cornerman for Klose testing positive for COVID-19.  This very last-minute cancellation is too bad for Skelly and very concerning for Emmers.  There are still 13 fights on this card, so a lot left for tonight.

🚨🚨🚨Trump on Truth Social: Israel, out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East, has violently lashed out at a major facility known as South Pars Gas Field in Iran. A relatively small section of the whole has been hit. The United States knew nothing about this

Contrary to Trump’s statements, senior Israeli and U.S. officials said that the United States had prior knowledge of the Israeli strike and even approved it in an attempt to pressure Iran. After the Iranians retaliated against Qatar’s gas fields, Trump is now changing course
