UFC 257 bonuses

January 23, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC 257 took place on Saturday night and featured the return of Conor McGregor.  However, Dustin Poirier came to fight and earned a $50K bonus for his 2nd round KO of the former two-division champion.

Poirier dropped McGregor in the second round of the main event on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.  In addition, Michael Chandler’s UFC debut went well.  He dished out a first round KO of Dan Hooker which started with a left hook which dropped the New Zealander to begin the end.  Chandler earned his first Performance of the Night on his first night with the company.  Also receiving bonuses were Marina Rodriguez as she scored an upset with a KO of Amanda Ribas.  Makhmud Muradov earned his third UFC win in three tries with the company with a third-round finish of Andrew Sanchez.

Payout Perspective:

A solid night of fights culminating with a bettor’s upset in the main event with Poirier scoring a victory in their rematch.  A lot to unpack with the lightweight division as it looks as though Khabib Nurmogomedov will relinquish the title and Poirier, Chandler, Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliviera are prime for title shots.
