AEW 762K, NXT 551K

January 17, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

AEW Dynamite on TNT drew 762,000 viewers on Wednesday night this past week.  NXT on USA fell again this week down to 551,000 viewers.

Dynamite drew 0.3 in the A18-49 demo, 0.41 in the M18-49, 0.37 in the A25-54 and 0.26 in the over 50 category.  It was ranked 31st overall after dropping 50 48th the week prior due in part to the breaking news of the insurrection on January 6th.  NXT dropped by 90,000 viewers and went from 68th place to 70th.

Payout Perspective:

With cable news dominating the first two weeks of 2021, don’t look for it to let up with the inauguration set for Wednesday.  It does look like AEW has done better with surviving the ratings hit as WWE programming for NXT is down.  What is notable is that Smackdown ratings are on the rise on Fox Friday nights.
