AEW 977K, NXT 586K

January 4, 2021 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

AEW drew 977K viewers last Wednesday for the Brodie Lee tribute show. 4th overall in cable.  NXT drew 586K viewers opposite #AEW Ratings per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily

Only the Cotton Bowl and its associated pre and postgame telecasts outdrew AEW Wednesday night.

AEW drew 0.40 in the A18-49 demo, 0.54 in the M18-49 demo, 0.46 in A25-54 and 0.34 in the over 50 category.

Meanwhile, NXT on USA drew 586,000 viewers for a household rating of 0.12.

Payout Perspective:

The tribute show to the former Luke Harper by AEW was well-done and highly-anticipated by many wrestling fans.  In fact, many WWE performers referred to it (not by name), but talked about the tribute.  NXT did experience a dip under 600,000 viewers for the first show of the  year which was likely due to many tuning in to see the show on TNT.
