PFL partners with group to deliver its SmartCage analytics

November 10, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

As sports move toward embracing analytics more and more, the PFL is utilizing its capabilities from its SmartCage data to deliver analytics for fight fans.

According to a press release from the PFL, Flagship Solutions Group, and IBM Gold Business Partner will partner with the PFL to manage, design, and deliver the experience leveraging IBM’s technology solutions.

Via PFL

Via press release:

PFL’s proprietary SmartCage measures real-time MMA fighter performance analytics along with biometric and positional data providing fans with an elevated viewing experience. Moving forward, SmartCage fight data, called Cagenomics, will be enhanced with Watson machine learning to scour data points and uncover new insights for MMA fans, bringing them inside the cage like never before.

Payout Perspective:

Obviously, the move toward analytics in sports is a way of enhancing the viewing experience.  Also, the analytics can be used in sports betting as a way to analyze statistics in making calculated decisions.  For the non-gambler, viewing the number of punches being thrown, how hard they are being thrown and other stats may be of interest.
