WWE Friday Night Smackdown down due in part to NBA Finals

October 3, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

WWE Friday Night Smackdown drew 2.105 million viewers in the first hour and 1.980 million viewers in the second according to Nielsen Media Research via ShowBuzz Daily.  The telecast went up against the NBA Finals on ABC which drew 4.3 million in the second hour of WWE Smackdown.

The A18-49 demo slipped per Nielsen as it drew a 0.6 in the first hour and 0.5 in the second.

Last week Smackdown drew an average of 2.110 and 766,00 in the A18-49 demo.

Payout Perspective:

The ratings fell slightly due to the NBA Playoffs as one might assume some of the viewership left between hour 1 and 2 to watch basketball.  The young demo, which the WWE dominates on Friday night, was off due in part to the NBA Finals.
