WWE Friday Night Smackdown shows gains in viewership going into Summerslam

August 22, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

WWE Friday Night Smackdown showed an increase in viewership as the company prepared for its second largest PPV of the year Summerslam this Sunday.  The go-home telecast saw both hours over 2 million viewers Friday night.

The telecast which revealed its “ThunderDome” look of viewers on television screens similar to the NBA and NHL broadcasts drew 2.189 million viewers in the first hour and 2.146 million viewers in the second hour.  The telecast drew a 0.6 rating in the A18-49 demo, 0.7 in the A25-54 a 6 share in the M18-49 in the first hour and 5 in the second.  The ratings are an increase over the past several weeks.

Payout Perspective:

CBS programming once again ruled night on the networks but Fox did well in the A18-49 and 25-54 demos not to mention leading the way in the M18-49 demo.  The ratings are good for the WWE as the Fox draw has increased over the past 4 weeks.
