Dustin Poirier-Dan Hooker take home FOTN at UFC on ESPN 12

June 27, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC on ESPN 12 took place on Saturday night at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.  Dan Hooker and Dustin Poirier put one of the best fights of the year and received the Fight of the Night for the night.

The former UFC lightweight interim champion earned the unanimous decision over Hooker in a very hard fought 5 rounds.

The Performances of the Night went to Kay Hanson who pulled off an armbar submission over Jinh You Frey in the third round.  Also, Julian Erosa submitted Sean Woodson in the third round with a D’Arce choke.  Erosa took the fight on short notice.

Payout Perspective:

Poirier’s fight against Hooker earned the Fight of the Night as it was a classic which saw Poirier establish himself in the championship rounds.  Hooker looked to have stunned the Poirier a couple times but the Diamond survived.
