Top Rank Boxing draws 327K after UFC telecast

June 23, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Top Rank Boxing drew 327,000 viewers on Saturday night according to Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.  The event followed the UFC on ESPN Saturday night.

The event from Mexico City featured Emmanuel Navarette as he faced Uriel Perez.  Navarette knocked out Perez in the 6th round.  The telecast featured four fights.

According to Nielsen, the event peaked with 808,000 viewers in the first 15-minute block of the telecast.  This was likely due to the UFC event on ESPN which preceded Top Rank.

Payout Perspective:

The UFC ruled the night on ESPN.  The drop-off in viewers from the main event of the UFC telecast to the start of the Top Rank event reflects this as the event peaked at the beginning of the show instead of during the main event.  Of course, Top Rank’s event started at 11pm on the east coast which is very late for the casual boxing fan.  Yet, the Top Rank ratings are on par with Saturday night’s viewership.
