SmackDown holds young demo, hovers around 2M viewers

June 15, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

WWE Friday Night Smackdown drew over 2 million viewers in the first hour this past Friday but then fell back under it in the second hour on Fox.  However, the ratings were strong in the company’s key demos as it was the only original content on a night of reruns.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown drew a 0.7 rating in the A25-54 demo, tying for the most-watched in this category with an episode of 20/20 on ABC.  It also drew 0.5 in the A18-49 demo making it the most-watch program on network in the demo.  It also scored a 5 in M18-49 which once again scored the highest for a telecast Friday night.

Smackdown drew an overall 2.036M viewers in the first hour and 1.996 in the second hour Friday night.

(Ratings per Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily)

Payout Perspective:

The ratings are hovering around 2 million per 2-hour block although WWE can say that its doing well right now with its key younger demo as they are consistently tuning in for the live content.  Friday featured reruns on the other networks and Smackdown did fairly well in maintaining its core audience.
