UFC targets Apex for May 30th event, but Arizona an alternative

May 17, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The UFC will be looking to do its next event on May 30th at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas if the state of Nevada lifts its stay-at-home ban.  If not, Dana White indicated that the event would head to Arizona.

White stated at the UFC on ESPN 8 post-fight press conference on Saturday night that the promotion will have another event this month and if Nevada is not ready, it will turn toward Arizona.

The state of Arizona has been rumored to be a location for MLB to return to play games.  The stay-at-home orders in the state expired this past week with professional sports being allowed to begin practicing.  Gyms, spas and community swimming pools are now open within the state so the UFC would likely have little problem finding a venue to hold fights.

Payout Perspective:

Even with the health and safety protocol standards provided to Nevada, one would think the commission would still have to vote on reopening the state.  Certainly, boxing would be interested in this as well.  But, with Arizona back in business, the state looks like the closest location for the UFC to hold events.

Wait, is this for real? Trump spent $60 million of our taxpayer funds to host a UFC fight and then is selling UFC coin to line his family’s pockets. The Trump corruption swamp is a mile deep.
