ESPN aired boxing replays from some of the best fights in its library featuring Manny Pacquiao and culminated with the Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather fight.
The most-viewed replay this past Saturday goes to the replay of the Floyd Mayweather, Jr.-Zab Judah fight which garnered 678K viewers. It was followed by the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez III fight which drew 577K viewers. Just after that showing, ESPN aired Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto which drew 1,000 less viewers for 576K. Finally, the Manny-Floyd fight drew 563,000 viewers despite being the last fight on the schedule Saturday night and seemingly being the centerpiece of the replays.

Payout Perspective:
Clearly, boxing fans know when they’ve seen a dog of a fight and that would explain Mayweather-Pacquiao having the lowest ratings of the day. Still, ESPN’s strategy to show some of the best fight in its library helps keep boxing fans engaged during this time.
