Reebok to release McGregor shoe collaboration February 21st

January 15, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Conor McGregor and Reebok have collaborated on a new shoe which launches next month.  The announcement coincides with McGregor’s return to the UFC this Saturday at UFC 246.

McGregor teased the release last week on his Instagram account. McGregor will serve as the face for the launch of the Reebok Zig Kinetica.   In addition to the shoe, Reebok has released other clothing including t-shirts with the former double UFC champion.

The shoe will not be released until February 21st and will be priced at $120.  The company is including a limited-edition McGregor “Zigurine” action figure in 100 units of the product.

McGregor is coming off of a layoff of over a year to face Donald Cerrone as he tries to right his career in the Octagon.

Payout Perspective:

As we see, Reebok, the official clothing sponsor of the UFC, is not concerned with McGregor’s past wrongs as he will be the spokesperson for this new shoe.  This seems like a risky undertaking by Reebok as it is hoping the McGregor returns to form before his loss to Khabib Nurmogomedov.  If he loses to Cerrone, the shoe campaign may be dead on arrival.
