UFC PPV on ESPN+ go up $5 in 2020

December 18, 2019 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

In 2020, the UFC is boosting its PPV prices on ESPN + $5 to $64.95 from $59.95. The price of ESPN+ is unchanged at $4.99 per month or $49.99 for a year’s subscription.

The PPV prices had gone down in March 2019 after it went behind the ESPN+ paywall but it will go back up to $64.99 to ESPN+ subscribers starting with UFC 246 featuring Conor McGregor and Cowboy Donald Cerrone.  For non-subscribers to ESPN+, the pay-per-view and a one-year subscription to ESPN+ are being packaged together for $84.98, a similar increase from the current rate of $79.98.

The last time UFC PPV saw an increase was in February 2018.  Prior to that, in 2015, UFC raised its HD PPV rates from $54.99 to $59.99.

Payout Perspective:

You probably could see this coming with the UFC as it tries to capitalize on its popularity.  To most, a $5 increase is nominal although for the company, you could see a boost in its PPV revenues.  Obviously, having Conor McGregor on the first card that you raise PPV prices will help alleviate the financial blow as the former double champion is one of the most PPV stars around despite the fact that he’s been out of action since last October.

Wait, is this for real? Trump spent $60 million of our taxpayer funds to host a UFC fight and then is selling UFC coin to line his family’s pockets. The Trump corruption swamp is a mile deep.
