PBC Fight Camp telecast Sunday draws 2.2M thanks to NFL

October 30, 2019 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

PBC Fight Camp this past Sunday afternoon scored its largest viewership thanks to NFL Football on Fox as it drew 2.247 million viewers on the network according to Nielsen.  The shoulder programming featured the upcoming fight between Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz.

The telecast aired Sunday afternoon on Fox after the network’s slate of games and took advantage of the audience that remained.  Wilder faces Ruiz in a heavyweight showdown on Fox PPV November 23rd.

The shoulder programming launches the weekly airings which will culminate on November 17th.  With promotions occurring weekly during NFL games and through the World Series, the event is getting exposure.

Payout Perspective:

There’s something about the heavyweights that gets more people interested in the event. The airing of PBC Fight Camp increased in viewership by over 30% from the top viewership from September’s Shawn Porter-Errol Spence leadup to their showdown in Staples. Wilder-Ruiz is also taking advantage of the fact that the NFL season is in full swing and the World Series is going to 7 games (albeit ratings for baseball have been down).  But, all signs point to a good buy rate since many are tuning in to the programming.
