AEW and NXT both tumble in TV ratings

October 24, 2019 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The Wednesday night professional wrestling wars continued although both shows experienced a decrease in viewership which might be attributed to the return of the NBA and Game 2 of the World Series on Fox.

AEW on TNT drew an overall viewership of 963,000, its first time under 1 million viewers.  On The USA Network, NXT drew 698,000 viewers which is a decrease from the 712,000 viewers the previous week.

Payout Perspective:

AEW was still in the Top 5 of the cable ratings on Wednesday night.  The two NBA games on ESPN drew 1.698M (Bos-Phil) and 1.345M (Den-Por) respectively followed by American Horror Story on FX (1.350M) and then AEW.  NXT fell farther down drawing just 698,000.  The World Series on Fox drew 11.78M viewers which likely added to the competition on Wednesday night.  It will be interesting to see which of these shows will pull itself out of this tailspin in ratings.

@Josh_HokitUFC You’re gonna cry you were cancelled by the left for “free speech”. And then you’ll post 200 times a day on Twitter until fox and friends invites you on to “tell your story”. And after that you’ll run for congress and your campaign will be centered on white grievance.

This is

Real question. Was this announced or is there an intern somewhere that is taking note of ever fighter’s follow and unfollow?

Ian Garry unfollowed PFL fighter Alexei Pergande after a clip resurfaced of him taking down Garry in sparring:

"Ian Garry is lying about me... I'm not sure why he made up a lie [about me filming him without permission]."
