UFC 230 ticket demand better than last year’s MSG show

November 2, 2018 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC 230 looks to be the biggest New York City event since its debut after legalizing the sport in 2015.  According to secondary marketplace ticket seller SeatGeek, tickets are averaging at a pace second to only UFC 205 for the promotion’s events within the state.

The average resale price for UFC 230 this Saturday is $406.  In comparison UFC 205’s resale price was $1,441 for the company’s debut 2 years ago.  UFC 205 featured Conor McGregor as he took on Eddie Alvarez for the UFC lightweight title.  Last year’s UFC 217, featuring the return of GSP to face Michael Bisping resold for $383.

The get-in price on the secondary market for Saturday as of Friday morning was $132.

Notably, there are still tickets on Ticketmaster going for $86 to get-in in the upper reaches of MSG.

Saturday’s UFC 230 features a Heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Derrick Lewis.

Payout Perspective:

A little surprising that UFC 230 is getting this much traction as the card is really one for the serious UFC fan.  Cormier is not known as an attraction but gets Lewis who is a personality that can sell a fight.  We shall see if this translates into PPV sales.

Didn't know this was a thing but delighted it is.

Conor McGregor is a horrible, despicable rapist wanker and he should be the shame of Ireland. Well done The Burren

Maybe they should just call it the Ariel Helwani award and give it to other MMA journalists?
