Mayweather-McGregor closed circuit tickets going for $150

August 3, 2017 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

ESPN’s Darren Rovell reports that the cost for a closed-circuit ticket for the Floyd Mayweather, Jr.-Conor McGregor will be $150 plus fees.  The ticket is the same price as sold for the Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight.

ESPN notes that 46,000 closed-circuit tickets were sold at MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas for $6.9 million in additional revenue.

It appears that if fans are going to watch the fight, they will not be watching in person as over 3,000 tickets for the fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas remain.

The announced PPV for the fight will be $99.95 in HD in the United States.  There is also the option of going to a movie theater in paying to watch the fight which retails for approximately $40.

Payout Perspective:

So the question will be whether fans in Vegas will be willing pay $150 to see the fight between Mayweather-McGregor.  Despite the sluggish ticket sales, I can see the number of closed-circuit tickets selling close to the 46,000 it sold for Mayweather-Pacquiao.  There’s enough interest that people will not want to spend thousands of dollars to attend in person but pay $150 to see it with others.
