The UFC released a statement on Andrade via UFC.com, a portion of which states:

The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Viscardi Andrade of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection on March 7, 2016. The sample was collected from Andrade in Brazil and analyzed at the WADA accredited laboratory in Rio de Janeiro, and recently reported to USADA as containing a prohibited substance.

Andrade defeated Richard Walsh in Brisbane, Australia on March 20, 2016 at UFC Fight Night 85.  On the same card, Frank Mir was notified of a potential anti-doping violation.

Like I said a while back, its a couple of times a week now. Start instituting lifetime bans and I bet the methodology changes.

2 year bans are no slap on the wrist. They still need some improvement on their testing approach, but the penalties are fair.

Its nice to see mma leading the way in professional sports in the US when dealing with doping. Hopefully all the other major pro sports will follow.

Well you have to “lead the way” when it’s so common. Just like wwe in the early 2000’s, everyone was juicing.

If you had to lead the way when it was so common, why aren’t the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, Boxing, ATP, WTA, etc. leading the way? They have arguably a worse track record of ped users, the only difference is they do not test as rigidly as the UFC does.

Everyone is juicing in all of those leagues/sports.

I actually agree with D for once, the powers that be in MMA are definitely taking on the doping in the sport. Is NFL? Baseball did all it could to avoid coming down on folks, the feds had to get involved.
