The UFC has canceled its March 5th PPV show set for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Anderson Silva referred to being taken off of the card because of its cancellation at today’s media conference for UFC Fight Night 83.

“(The plan) was to have me fighting in Brazil against I don’t know who,” Silva said, at the media conference “but with this situation going on in Brazil, economically and everything, the UFC decided to abort this event for now.”
The last time Anderson Silva fought in Brazil was as a last-minute fill in to fight Stephan Bonnar at UFC 153 in October 2012.
Silva returns to the UFC against Michael Bisping as the headlining event at UFC Fight Night 83 in February on UFC Fight Pass.
Payout Perspective:
With the cancellation of UFC 197, we will see if the UFC will find a replacement event or recalibrate its numbers to ensure that UFC 200 is in July. Whether or not the economy was a reason for cancelling the event is an interesting issue as this has been brought up in the past. This past year, UFC Fight Night 67 drew only 3,500 in attendance from Goiania, Brazil so nixing a PPV due to potential low turnout would not be out of the question.

In all seriousness UFC spends a ton on promotions.
Or Fight Fan, who gets all of his information at his local wild wings. It is a regular think tank. Haha.
The UFC spends less on promotion than big boxing events do in terms of ads, in terms of total cost, they spend more, because they also run the production, which allows them to keep all of the revenue unlike boxing where they have to pay Showtime and HBO for ppv events and take a lower cut for rights fees.

His numbers were spot on from his WWE’s days. His numbers are always considerably lower than the one’s the White and co. release.
Who does boxing have challenging their numbers? Their own promoters? Well, they actually do have someone- each other when they point out how one another lied. Haha.
I’ll believe the numbers when they come from a legit news source such as Kevin Iole or Dan Rafael. Not an mma fan boy site lol. They cannot lie about numbers due to the fact that they cannot lie to shareholders.

Also, Rafael has called out the boxing promoters for lying in the past and then was punished by ESPN and Showtime/Mayweather for doing so. Shows the legitimacy of boxing in terms of disclosure. So, by your claim that they can not lie to shareholders(which is absurd for about a million reasons, notably the fact that there are no HBO/Showtime shareholders, the numbers are never publicly disclosed, and are long term counted and given as estimations by the promotion when counted anyway), you are stating that Rafael is not a legitimate source because he was lying when he stated that Espinoza lied about the Guerrero-Mayweather numbers. Oops! HAHAHA!
