TUF 22 Finale gate and bonuses

December 12, 2015 by Jason Cruz 4 Comments

MMA Junkie reports the gate and bonuses from the TUF 22 Finale held on Friday night at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.  Tony Ferguson earned two performances bonuses for his win against Edson Barboza.

Ferguson and Barboza earned Fight of the Night while Frankie Edgar earned a performance bonus for his first round KO of Chad Mendes.  Ferguson submitted Barboza in their bout on the second night of fights at the venue.

The event drew a gate of $450,000.  No attendance figure was revealed as of yesterday.

Payout Perspective:

Curious that there was no attendance figure revealed but the $450,000 gate is big for a small venue.  The night prior for UFC Fight Night 80, it drew approximately 1,600 for a gate of $234,000.  Thus, the gate more than doubled Friday which is an impressive showing for a venue that probably maxes out at 2,500 fans.

As stated before, without the hype and the BS publicity, the UFC would end up like WSOF (which ironically has great fighters).

Why was NOS energy drink sponsoring the event? Wouldn’t that be a conflict with Monster?
I don’t know which energy drink to buy now, it’s all so confusing.
