WSOF 19: 216,000

March 31, 2015 by Jason Cruz 8 Comments

MMA Payout has learned via Nielsen sources that World Series of Fighting 19 on Saturday drew 216,000 viewers on NBC Sports Network. The ratings slightly improve on its last event in February.

The event featured an exciting bout between WSOF lightweight champion Justin Gaethje and Luis Palomino. Gaethje stopped Palomino in the third round. The event also featured an upset with UFC veteran Thiago Silva getting knocked out by Teddy Holder in the first round. The fight was set up after Matt Hamill was forced to pull out late due to an illness.

WSOF 16 181,000
WSOF 17 222,000
WSOF 18 209,000
WSOF 19 216,000

Payout Perspective:

The average for WSOF viewership is around 244,000 viewers and 214,000 viewers if you discount the NBC show last July.  The viewership is average for a Saturday night especially when you consider that WSOF went opposite the NCAA Tournament game between Notre Dame and Kentucky.

That low number nothing to do with the NCAA tournament. It’s as simple as no one is watching WSOF.

Crazy idea maybe, but why don’t these small two-bit promos not join each other as ONE legit competitor to the UFC instead of further hampering each others?

Hey Sal, as low as those numbers are, they are still not losing a fraction of the money PBC is. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Just pull the plug. No one wants non-UFC MMA. Ray Sefo is an idiot.

Wow! So many UFC fanboys on here that simply cannot say anything good about any other MMA promotion not named UFC. I hope the WSOF and Bellator thrive because with other thriving MMA oganizations it will give more fighters a chance to make a living doing the sport they love and are skilled at. And in turn it will increase the salaries for the fighters. So good luck WSOF and Bellator.

@Josh_HokitUFC You’re gonna cry you were cancelled by the left for “free speech”. And then you’ll post 200 times a day on Twitter until fox and friends invites you on to “tell your story”. And after that you’ll run for congress and your campaign will be centered on white grievance.

This is

Real question. Was this announced or is there an intern somewhere that is taking note of ever fighter’s follow and unfollow?
