Rousey heads to Albany to lobby legalization of MMA in state

March 23, 2015 by Jason Cruz 15 Comments

Ronda Rousey is heading to Albany to lobby the legislature for the legalization of MMA in New York this week. In addition to heading to the state capital of New York, Rousey made an appearance on “The View” on Monday as well as “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” on Monday night.

Rousey indicated to the NY Daily News that she wanted to make the trip to Albany “a priority” despite her busy schedule of promoting her upcoming movie release, “Fast & Furious 7,” as well as her August fight in Brazil against Bethe Corriea. She also stated that, “[i]t’s pretty ridiculous that MMA is not regulated here [New York].”

Rousey’s appearance on “The View” Monday morning did not mention New York but was more of a general interview in which the show aired her complete fight from UFC 184 (it was just 14 seconds). She did promote her UFC 190 fight this August against Bethe Correia.

Payout Perspective:

As is always the case, the momentum for MMA in Albany picks up steam with appearances by UFC talent, but will it mean that the bill will actually be put to a vote this year. With a new speaker in the General Assembly, and Zuffa picking up some key endorsements in the past couple weeks, this year could be different from years past. Rousey’s appearance in Albany this week will be a good source of mainstream news and perhaps grab a little more momentum for MMA’s cause in the state.

Funny how every idiot in mma uses dana white as a source. Hahaha. Sad thing is Arum is probably close on his estimate even if its 50 mil it still smokes most sports as a gate. Not even in the same universe as mma. Hahaha oh wait the ufc just got a 7k gate in rio. Hahaha

    20,000 tickets X $3,700 average = $74 million

Yes. Sounds about right since word has it that floor seats are looking at six figures.

Boxing trolls source…..Bob Arum. The same guy who has been called out by every other boxing promoter for being totally full of shit. There is a reason why no one wants to negotiate with him and pretty much all of his big named fighters have jumped ship other than Pacquaio.

Here is a great quote by Arum made recently:

“I think we [Pacquiao vs Algieri] are going to [generate numbers] akin to what we did in the [Manny Pacquiao vs] Tim Bradley fight which is anywhere between 750,000 and 900,000 [PPV buys].”

Pac-Algieri generates 375k buys. He’s got about a million more of these delusional comments.

Mayweather-Pacquiao is predicted to generate around $500m.

If Fedor-Lesnar, Silva-GSP, Jones-Cain, were all on the same card the UFC still couldnt generate 1/4th of this revenue.

Here we are talking about boxing again lol. D= denial of the truth, obviously D has no experience with gate to ticket ratios. Even a retard can look at the simple numbers of Maypac and see what the gate could and most likely will be. D cant even figure out UFC numbers and how sometimes, not always they dont add up. D is a pretender who wouldn’t know what to look for and has no clue as to the games promoters play with numbers. I hear banners at MGM are going for up to a million bucks for maypac, I guess we will see plenty of ceilings that the ufc and other sports can dream about bahahahaha Oh wait I hear aldo/mcgreg will do close to maypac numbers hhahahaha yea sure it will hahahah you will be able to get tickets for 50 bucks outside mgm the night of 189!!!

Here are numbers broken down which look very accurate. Only a moron like D wont be able to understand how it works. Dana’s math is much different, but its easy to poke holes in UFC numbers with far less information. haha UFC stopped reporting comps and holds entire sections to boost supposed attendance bahahaha\
    Suck on this

Funny how Sal attempts to act like he knows anything about this business or business in general but didn’t even know the difference between an llc and a corporation. HAHAHA!! What a pathetic fag boxing troll!

D can’t stick to a topic when his pants are pulled down, haha runs with some bullshit about a corp or an llc like it even means anything important. D looks for the smallest thing, like his little dick, and tries to make meaningless points. hahah Yea everyone knows I know way more then you’ll ever know. Whats the matter D can handle dwindling ufc numbers hahahah Boxing numbers through the roof hahah
