MMA Junkie reports UFC on Fox 14 reportedly drew a record 30,000 in attendance for a gate of $3.1 milion. It was the biggest European attendance and gate in the company’s history.
Perhaps most remarkable about the attendance was that the event occurred during the middle of the night in Sweden. UFC General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa David Allen announced the attendance and gate post-event. The UFC on Fox broadcast indicated that 26,000 were in attendance at the Tele2Arena in Stockholm but Allen stated that there was a strong walkup for tickets.
There were no reports of comps.
Payout Perspective:
When the stadium show was announced, we had our skepticism about whether the show could draw 30,000 people. This is partly due to the fact that attendance over the past 3 UFC events in Sweden had decreased. Moreover, the event would be held in the middle of the night to accommodate the North American audience. But with the country backing Alexander Gustafsson, the UFC fans came out to support him. It was an entertaining card and a good indicator that the UFC could hold stadium shows in select countries.
Wow. Huge number and the main event took place at around 3-4 am local time.

Yes great numbers at a glance but its not what is appears to be. 3.1 million on 30k lol that’s a fucking joke! Sweden is a great country with great people but the laws and rules are not in favor of business especially foreign. So let me break it down for the uninformed. 3.1 million gross is about 100 a ticket with ticket tax and fee on top. So its not a net. 1 mil in fighter payroll and half a million in labor and production, Sweden is expensive as shit, just the police and EMS for an event like this will be 100k. Promotion, lets say half a million in advertisement. So that makes it roughly 1.1 million before Government fees and taxes, plus minus the ticket tax and fee.
The UFC’s net was 500k US maybe 750k and that’s being generous. So I say wooptey fucking do! The UFC needs to do 10 of those a year just in Sweden to make any coin worth a shit. Don’t forget the fighters and anyone appearing on a camera or in the cage pay an entertainers tax, so it basically sucks for the fighters.
Also Swede’s are cheap as all fuck and will only go once or twice a year, they dont have the extra money like most American do. Another fluff job, example Froch Groves 2 comparison is 12 million on 30k tickets. So basically its not even a college football game number.
